ECOTIC has responded positively to the invitation to participate at a roundtable organized by the Ecologic Magazine, on 19.02.2014, on “Horizon 2020: Romania a recycling society?” theme.
This event was attended by representatives of :
- collective schemes that take over the responsibility on packaging
- collective schemes that take over the responsibility on WEEE
- collective schemes that take over the responsibility on tires
- WEEE recyclers
- recyclable waste collectors
- OPP Remat
- CIROM
- RER Group
- German Embassy
- Economic agents (producers of packaging)
The discussions were focused on the need of dialogue between recycling industry and the central authorities in order to encourage the promotion of a legal framework favourable for the fulfillment of the selective collection and recycling targets assumed by that the state of the European Union .
To facilitate this, participants at the meeting decided to set up the Working Group ” Initiative Romania Horizon 2020″, which will be coordinated by the general manager of Ecologic magazine Matei Dumitru. The Group will be encourage dialogue regarding recycling and collection activities.The elected delegates will develop positions and regulatory proposals based on today’s legislation to be submitted.
The Group is working on a point of view for replacing Law 101.
