ECOTICs team meet with the representative of Zeos (www.zeos.si), the largest collective organization in Slovenia.
The exchange of information regarding best practices at the operational and awareness projects level were held during this meeting.
Zeos organization was founded in 2005 and represents about 70% of the Slovenian market. In this country, WEEE collection performance has exceeded 4kg/inhabitant/year but this result is below the target imposed by the new Directive, meaning 40-45% of EEE placed on the market. For its producers, Zeos takes also the responsabilities over batteries and accumulators as well as for the packaging.
Both ECOTIC and Zeos are active members in the WEEE Forum, both organizations strongly supporting the implementation WEEELABEX standards in treatment and recycling of WEEE, in order to reduce the disparities between the central-eastern Europe and western Europe.
