The ECOTIC team welcomes the third WEEELABEX auditor in Romania

The month of May brigs yet another piece of good news for ECOTIC and the whole collection and recycling system of Romania: Diana Grosu has become a WEELABEX auditor following her participation in a specialty course in Prague. Diana becomes part of a small and valuable team of WEEELABEX auditors in Romania.

The WEEELABEX standard in WEEE management is relatively recent, appearing in 2013 as a necessity in establishing clear and efficient requirements within the WEEE stream operations. The purpose of implementing this standard is to limit pollution as a result of WEEE collection-recycling operations, to ensure the safety and health of the people involved and to increase the efficiency in recovering materials resulted from recycling.

ECOTIC committed itself to transpose the WEEELABEX requirements, at contractual level, in its relations with operators involved in WEEE treatment. Thus, the whole system of WEEE management operations becomes more efficient, transparent and, as a result, more respectful towards its essential goals: environmental protection and creating an infrastructure for a cleaner country.

The WEEELABEX auditors are the key to this improved management system for they are the ones who check and evaluate the conformity of operators’ actions for the following treatment processes: large and small household appliances, CRT equipment, flat screens and heat transfer equipment.

Lots of luck to our colleague in her mission to work for a clean environment!
