On 25th of May 2013, in the event “Days of Cluj Napoca” organized under the aegis of Cluj Napoca City Hall, was organized by Eco Club Transylvania and RunSilvania, the first obstacle race with WEEE made in Romania. The race was developed under the symbolic name “Run with Donath”. The event received the support of ECOTIC alongside Total Waste Recycling.
One of the unique elements of this event was the ecologic aspect of the action, participants and supporters of the activities being able to be in a direct contact with the problem of electronic waste. ECOTIC alongside Total Waste Recycling have arranged the route with obstacles composed of old refrigerators.
Partners wanted to highlight that the waste of electrical and electronic equipment requires special attention regarding their proper management. The obstacles put by ECOTIC and Total Waste Recycling were the only of their kind in the entire assembly of existing obstacles in the competition.
Given that overcoming “ECOTIC obstacle,” as it was called by the organizers, was not a problem for the participants in the race, we can appreciate that the success of the competitors was an example for every citizen who wants to dispose correctly of waste electronic equipment. Disposal of electrical and electronic equipment can be done responsibly, in Cluj Napoca, citizens disposing of WEEE collection services provided by Rosal Group and Brantner Veres, whose WEEE collection points are set up with the support ECOTIC.
