"Recycle today, for your health tomorrow!" – campaign in schools in Bistrita Năsăud county

The Bistrita-Nasaud Environmental Protection Agency launched on March 02, 2023 the educational project "Recycle today, for your health tomorrow!", project carried out in partnership with the ECOTIC and ECOTIC BAT Association - represented by SLC - II Mina Nedelea and the Bistrita-Nasaud County School Inspectorate (ISJ BN).

The project is in its XNUMXth edition and was a real success among educational units in urban and rural areas.

The project will take place in primary, secondary and high school education units in Bistrita Nasaud county  and will aim to promote the benefits of the selective collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), used batteries, lighting fixtures, as well as increasing the degree of awareness of the general public on the environmental obligations in this field. For the three categories of waste to be collected, containers will be installed in each educational unit enrolled in the project.

The calendar of activities assumes a period of development of the project in the period 02 March – 7 June 2023, with the achievement of intermediate stages as follows: the registration of school units, the development of activities to promote the collection of electrical and electronic equipment waste by placing the ECOTIC Caravan in the municipality of Bistrita (with the possibility of visiting for all interested students), the intermediate quantitative evaluation of the waste collected during of April, as well as educational, practical, creative activities, to encourage the habit of collecting batteries, lighting fixtures and WEEE. Visitors to the mobile exhibition held through ECOTIC caravan located on Liviu Rebreanu pedestrian street (08:00 - 16:00), between March 13 - March 31, 2023. Visitors can get in touch with the issue of electrical and electronic waste through the detailed presentation of several types of such waste, their dangerous nature , as well as the way in which they must be managed.

At the end of the project, students will be awarded prizes for the largest amount of waste collected, as well as for the most active and responsible educational unit enrolled in the project, an event that will take place on June 7, 2023 in the premises of the Palace of Culture - Bistrita, the date on which it is also proposed for those present to watch a play for children, staged by the children's puppet theater troupe "Alexandru Misiuga" from the Palatului Culturii - Bistrita.
