Between November 6-28, the residents of Iași are encouraged to be actively involved in the protection of the environment through the separate collection of electrical and electronic waste.
ECOTIC Together with Iași City Hall, Salubris and APM Iași organize a waste collection campaign for electrical and electronic equipment (including light bulbs and neon lights).
According to the study ECOTIC from 2022 "The habits of the Romanian population regarding small electrical equipment" only a third of the Romanian population knows of an electrical waste collection point in the vicinity of their residence. To the question addressed to the population regarding the disposal of electrical waste, over 60% of the population said that they intend to hand over for reuse or to a specialized collection point.
In order to meet the population's need for access to solutions for disposing of these types of waste, ECOTIC, together with local partners, is developing a series of collection campaigns aimed at bringing to the attention of local residents the collection points they have at hand .
Residents of Iași have at their disposal during the campaign:
- FREE download from the home of bulky waste every Saturday during the campaign period. The pick-up order will be made by phone at the numbers 0232.270.223, 0232.705.873.
Delivery to municipal collection points:
- Plateau Barboi – Monday: 10:00 -18:00
- Str. Ciurchi no 117 (Ciurchi Food Complex Car Park) – Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. – 18:00 p.m.
- Str. Nicolae Iorga nr 15 – Wednesday: 10:00 -18:00
- Piata Păcurari – Thursday: 10:00-18:00
- Piata Sudului – Friday: 10:00-18:00
To encourage responsible behavior the organizers offer an instant prize: those who hand in more than 15 kg of electrical waste handed in will receive 2 LED bulbs.
