The ECOTIC campaign "Clean Cities" makes a new stop in Botosani

Clean Cities, the ECOTIC itinerant campaign, dedicated to collecting equipment used electrical and electronic equipment in the urban area, makes a new stop, this time, in Botoșani.

In period October 1 - 14, 2019, ECOTIC in partnership with Botoșani City Hall, APM Botoșani UrbanServ Botoșani, ELTRANS Botosani and Papucul Doamnei Association, encourages citizens to properly hand over waste for electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) for recycling, following that for the delivery of waste between 15kg and 35kg cumulated, to receive a voucher worth 10 lei, and for waste over 35 kg cumulated a voucher worth 20 lei.

The collection centers are:

  • Agrifood Market - str. Varnav, no. 22, parking lot Piața Viilor (Monday, between 09:00 - 16:00)
  • Association no. 36 (str. Aprodu Purice - rear Magazin Util Gara) (Tuesday and Thursday, between 09:00 - 16:00)
  • Association no. 63 (str. Independenței - opposite Serconf) (Wednesday, between 9:00 and 16:00 and Friday between 9:00 and 13:30)

At the same time, the inhabitants of Botoșani can benefit from a free service. Thus, the collection of waste of large and bulky electrical and electronic equipment will be done from home, based on a prior appointment at the telephone numbers 0231 517 007 or 0747 081 027.

Romania, as an EU member state, has the obligation to reach a target of 45% collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) by 2020. In this regard, ECOTIC continues its efforts to raise awareness among the population.

"We try to sensitize the inhabitants of Botoșani municipality on the importance of separate collection of recyclable waste, through information / awareness activities, encouraging them to selectively hand over waste that can be recycled, especially waste electrical and electronic equipment," says Bogdan Ciprian BUHĂIANU - General Manager of URBAN SERV SA BOTOȘANI.

"Clean Cities" is the ECOTIC campaign that pursues this goal in the urban environment. Together with local public and environmental authorities, ECOTIC has informed and continues to inform residents of dozens of cities across the country about the need to collect WEEE, providing specialized collection points.

In 2017 and 2018, ECOTIC carried out over 80 campaigns that informed over 550.000 people.
