The Clean Cities campaign arrives in Botosani

The Clean Cities of Botosani campaign organized under the auspices of the national information campaign "Be in your country as well as abroad" encourages citizens to hand over waste electrical and electronic equipment responsibly.

Between March 9-31, 2020, ECOTIC, Urban Serv Botoșani, the Ecoproces Botoșani Intercommunity Development Association, Botoșani City Hall, APM Botoșani, Eltrans Botoșani, and the Papucul Doamnei Association urge the people of Botosani to hand over waste and electricity properly to waste recycling. ). Each person who delivers waste weighing between 15 and 35 kg cumulatively receives a gift voucher worth 10 RON, and for waste over 35 kg cumulated a gift voucher worth 20 RON.

Temporary collection points are located as follows:

  • Agrifood Market - str. Vârnav, no. 22, parking lot Piaţa Viilor. Schedule: Monday 09:00 - 16:00
  • Association no. 36 (str. Aprodu Purice - back Magazin Util Gara). Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday 09:00 - 16:00
  • Association no. 63 (str. Independenței - opposite Serconf). Schedule: Wednesday 09:00 - 16:00 and Friday 09:00 - 13:30

At the same time, the citizens of Botosani can benefit from the free service of taking home large and bulky WEEE (eg refrigerators, washing machines, stoves, etc.), by calling the numbers 0231/517007 and 0747081027. An Urban Serv SA team will travel between 23.03-31.03.2020 to collect WEEE from home.

"We are convinced that by promoting examples of good practice in the field of WEEE collection and recycling and by organizing collection campaigns we contribute to the development of a new mentality and a responsible attitude of citizens towards the environment", says the General Manager - URBAN SERV SA - Bogdan Ciprian BUHĂIANU. 

The “Clean Cities” campaign - Botoșani is part of the national information campaign “Be in your country as well as abroad”, organized by ECOTIC in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, through which ECOTIC aims to promote good practices from the states of the European Union and to inform the Romanian public on the solutions for separate collection of electrical and electronic waste that are available to all: electronics and household appliances stores, municipal collection points and the campaigns that ECOTIC regularly conducts in urban areas and rural. Launched on January 14, the multimedia campaign includes a video spot and is promoted on traditional media, TV, as well as on YouTube and social networks. The home collection service is part of the solutions that ECOTIC makes available to citizens in urban and rural areas regarding separate collection.

Next, ECOTIC will launch local campaigns in the cities of Ploiești, Constanța, Cluj and Bucharest.
