In a context in which issues related to environmental protection and the circular economy are becoming increasingly important for society, Union of Professional Journalists from Romania, together with ECOTIC, organize Environmental Journalists Camp in period July 8 - 11, 2026, hosted by Vanatori Neamt Natural Park Kerslake.
The organizers aim to contribute to the development of environmental journalism and to address complex topics in a documented and balanced way. The initiative comes in response to the growing need for accurate and accessible public information on environmental challenges and the transition to a circular economy.
The objective of this camp is to train journalists in environmental issues, with the theme "Introduction to the Circular Economy and Environmental Protection". The program will include meetings with experts and practitioners in the field of environmental protection, practical workshops, case studies and interactive sessions aimed at developing participants' skills in documenting and communicating environmental topics.

The camp is aimed at experienced journalists who want to delve deeper into environmental topics and develop their skills in a rapidly developing field. At the same time, it is also a valuable opportunity for journalists eager to explore current environmental topics and interact with specialists in the field.
What topics will be covered?
- Environmental education in the education system in Romania.
- Circular Economy
- The impact of climate change on biodiversity
- Sustainable development and urban planning in the context of climate change
- Waste collection and recycling in Romania (including the WEEE and DBA component).
- Good practices in raising citizens' awareness of environmental issues
