From March 15 to April 15, EGGER, in partnership with ECOTIC, carried out, for the second consecutive year, a campaign to collect waste batteries and accumulators (DBA), lighting sources and small used WEEE. In the EGGER Recycle campaign, 117 employees collected 304 kilograms of batteries and 147 kilograms of small electronic and electrical waste.

EGGER employees have collected electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that no longer performs the functions for which it was created, has malfunctions, or are intended to be replaced.

The campaign was attended by 117 EGGER employees, who collected 13.957 DBA pieces, 434 small WEEE and 268 light bulbs or neon lights.

To encourage them to participate in the collection of this waste, we organized a raffle with 10 prizes, and the employees who brought the most waste to recycling were awarded three prizes in products and vouchers. To these prizes are added the ECOTIC prizes for each participant - a personalized mug.

In addition to the 2021 campaign, this year we offered our employees the opportunity to give up large electrical and electronic waste. Thus, six employees handed over free printers, televisions, monitors to ECOTIC to be recycled and capitalized in a healthy way for the environment.

In order to raise awareness of environmental issues, we also organized a workshop, held by an ECOTIC representative, on the topic of energy consuming products. EGGER employees were presented with information about the concept of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), the energy label, how to choose electrical and electronic products.

Together we contribute to the elimination of substances dangerous for the environment and health and the recovery of significant amounts of secondary raw materials.
