"I initiated and organized the eco-journalism contest out of the desire to stimulate the interest of Romanian journalists towards a topic as current as it is complex: environmental protection and the efficient use of resources in the context of Romania's transition to the circular economy. We believe that journalistic efforts in this field contribute to correct information and public awareness regarding environmental issues and solutions to ensure a sustainable future", declares Valentin Negoiță, President of ECOTIC.

"The Union of Professional Journalists from Romania joined with conviction this initiative of ECOTIC, which we appreciate for all its concrete actions in the spirit and in support of environmentalism, ecological education. In fact, our role, of those who exist in and through the mass media, of those who want to be "influencers" in society and to honor our status of public utility, is precisely that of making all our peers, with special , the young, to be more aware of the current state of the world we live in, of the Planet, of the urgent need to protect it. Personally, I am convinced that the Earth is our only property, truly, in this life!

We, the journalists, act permanently to determine a major, courageous involvement of all our peers in the face of all the dangers that graze humanity and which, most of the time, we create ourselves. In support of this cause we are and will be with those from ECOTIC", declares Sorin Stanciu, President of UZPR ecological journalism.
