March 4, 2021 was the launch of the ECOForum project, a communication and information program developed by ECOTIC and People and Companies, together with Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests within the specialized portal Administratie.ro. ECOForum aims to develop over time a community of people interested in environmental protection and, in this context, partnerships to fulfill their responsibilities in this field in the communities in which they operate.
The program includes 4 webinars dedicated to the representatives of the Local Public Authorities and 2 webinars addressed to company representatives who want to learn more about environmental protection and waste management.
The first meeting of the series of 4 addressed to the representatives of the Local Public Authorities, with attributions in the field of environmental protection and waste management, enjoyed the participation of 135 representatives of local and central public institutions. The topic of this meeting, Responsibilities of LPAs in waste management, was discussed with the panelists: River Pop (Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, Waters and Forests), Valentin Negoiță (President of the ECOTIC Association), Diana Trifu (ECOTIC Communication and Campaign Manager), Sabina Pîrvulescu (ECOTIC Operations Director), dr. eng. Ana-Maria Șchiopu (Head of the Office of Environmental and Quality Management, Salubris Iași). The guest presentations were complemented by an interactive session with questions and comments from participants, moderated by Dragos Călugaru, General Manager ECOTIC.
The next online meeting for public authorities will take place in May.
