The ECOTIC caravan arrives in Cluj-Napoca during May 4–8, offering residents the opportunity to responsibly hand in their waste electrical and electronic equipment. The campaign is taking place at the headquarters University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca, partner of the initiative alongside the organization Lions Clubs International.
During the Caravan's location, between the hours of 10:00 – 16:00, Cluj residents are invited to bring old or defective electrical equipment (from small and large household appliances to IT&C), thus contributing to protecting the environment and recovering valuable resources.
The event is part of ECOTIC's ongoing efforts to promote the separate collection and responsible recycling of electrical waste, in line with the objectives of circular economy and reduction of environmental impact.
Permanent collection points in Cluj-Napoca
In addition to the ECOTIC Caravan, Cluj residents also have permanent collection points operated by Supercom, where they can hand in electrical waste for free:
- Taietura Turcului Street, FN (Tuesday and Thursday 09-17:00)
- FN Fabricii Street, Under the Terapia Bridge (Tuesday and Thursday 09-17:00)
These locations provide a consistent solution for the proper disposal of electrical equipment throughout the year.
Investments in collection infrastructure
The municipality of Cluj-Napoca will benefit from a modern voluntary collection center (CAV), currently being operationalized, which will facilitate the separate handover of waste, including electrical equipment, directly by the population. This type of infrastructure contributes to increasing the recycling rate and developing a cleaner and more sustainable city.
