Between March 19 - 29, 2015, ECOTIC alongside Retim Ecologic Service, Timisoara City Hall and Timisoara Environmental Protection Agency launched the campaign “Recycling - A Way of Life!”.
The people of Timisoara were invited to hand over WEEE in an environmentally friendly way. Each person who gave a minimum of 5 kg of WEEE received an instant prize - an elegant umbrella *. 2.09 tons of WEEE were collected.
Old or broken electrical and electronic equipment contain elements and substances that can harm the environment and human health if not correctly collected and recycled. That is why we can protect the environment and our own health by simply handing over WEEE correctly.
The campaign unfolded between March 19 - 22, at the temporary collection point situated in 89, Calea Aradului (crossing with Ans St.), and between March 26 - 29 in 27, Peter and Paul Apostles St. (crossing with Holdelor St.). More information was readily available from authorized personnel within the campaign tent that was set up at the locations.
Everyone who was interested in handing over WEEE could also do it at the RETIM ECOLOGIC SERVICE municipal collection points:
- WEEE collection point - 94, Calea Torontalului;
- WEEE collection point - 3, Energiei St. (Calea Şagului area);
- WEEE collection point - 2, Calea Moşniţei;
- WEEE collection point - 70, Avram Imbroane Alley.
During the campaign, RETIM offered a house calling and collection system for WEEE. Collection calls could be made at 0256 / 22.00.64.
