During its 15 years of activity, ECOTIC has had a series of awareness and information campaigns on the importance of separate collection of electrical waste. The largest campaign is "Be with you in the country as well as abroad!"
"Be with you in the country as well as abroad" is a national information and public interest campaign launched by ECOTIC together with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, in January 2020. It was promoted through environmental awareness actions. online, offline, as well as through traditional media (TV and print media).
The aim of this campaign was to encourage Romanians to be the engine of change in Romania in terms of environmental protection and, in particular, in terms of separate collection of electronic waste. Citizens want "a country like abroad" and that requires their active contribution.
The campaign promoted the solutions for the delivery of electrical waste that citizens have at their disposal, namely:
- 1 - on - 1 teaching - in retail when purchasing new equipment you can hand over 1 similar equipment damaged or used;
- Collection points dedicated nationally located;
- Picking up from home of bulky electrical waste by telephone order at the unique call center number
In a pandemic year like 2020, the message of the campaign managed to get through to over 13 million people and to contribute to raising the awareness of the population. More and more Romanians understood the importance of recycling electrical waste and found out what ways they have at their disposal to fulfill their responsibilities towards the environment.
Based on a partnership with the National Audiovisual Council (CNA), the video spot dedicated to the campaign was distributed on the most important TV channels as a message of public interest: PRO TV, PRO Cinema, PRO X, Digi24, Digi Sport 1, Digi Sport 2, TVR 1, TVR 2, B1 TV, Discovery and Romania TV.
At the same time, under the umbrella of this campaign, ECOTIC developed together with its partners at the local level, electrical waste collection campaigns thus completing the information campaign in the online environment and on TV with practical actions.
