ECOTIC LIFE + CARAVAN

On June this year, ECOTIC received the approval from the European Commission for the co-financing by the EU LIFE program for a project of public awareness on recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment. The project will run from June 2014 to June 2016 under the name “ECOTIC LIFE + CARAVAN “.

The core of the Caravan will be a mobile exhibition that will show various types of electrical and electronic equipment, focusing on the educational purpose of these waste components. Explanations, movies and games will be found in this caravan and will have as aim to determinate the visitors to act correctly in terms of recycling of electrical and electronic equipment, emphaizing on the benefits of recycling, and the negative effects of hazardous substances contained in WEEE.

“ECOTIC CARAVAN LIFE +” will visit at least 150 schools across the country by developing some classes of eco-education and competitions on environmental issues and on the actual collection of these types of waste. The Caravan will have an itinerary which will include 30 public places in the country, where the public will be invited to step inside the caravan and get acquainted with the world of recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Besides students, teachers and the general public, another segment of audience for this project are the local authorities. 10 seminars will be held in 10 cities in the country, where, alongside local authorities will be discussed legislative issues will be disscused together with  the collection rate and the WEEE hazard awareness nationwide.

Other activities included in the “ECOTIC LIFE + Caravan” are the market surveys that have as themes th following: population awareness regarding the danger of WEEE collected and delivered inappropriately, awareness of issues of waste electrical and electronic equipment and involvement of the population in the collection of WEEE.
