 Project  for awarness in terms of selective waste collection and recycling  

Between January 28 to April 30, 2013, ECOTIC and Junior Achievement Romania, with the support of Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of National Education and the National Environmental Guard, implemented in the schools  of Bucharest, Iasi, Cluj, Timisoara, Bacau and Ploiesti,  the National project Education ECO”.

  •  What is ECO Education?                                                                                                                                            

ECO Education is a program that aims to develop responsible attitudes of students and teachers regaring waste, especially waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries and accumulators (WBA).

The projects activities want to develop the educative and also the practical side, meaning the selective collection of waste batteries and accumulators in special containers made available by the Organizers.

 

  • Who can participate to ECO Education?

The program targets students in grades I – VIII, teachers of classes I – IV, teachers and / or form teachers of classes V – VIII.

 

  • Whats ECO Education timeline ?

The program will run from January 28 to April 30, 2013. Registration  of the schools that include grades I – VIII and want to participate, will be allowed between January 28 to February 8.

 

  • What stage is now underway?

Starting with February 13 teachers will conduct the educational activities at class. The activities take place until 22 March 2013, checking the knowledge gained in education class through a test, the drawing classes and the batteries collection.

 

  •   What are the benefits of the participation in the ECO Education campaign?

For students:

At the end of the program, students will develop a responsible attitude towards waste, especially waste from electrical and electronic equipment and waste batteries and accumulators and the class who managed to collect the largest amount of waste batteries and accumulators and which had the most noticeable activity in the program will receiveas prize a visit to a authorized recycler that belongs to ECOTIC system, where students will be explained the stept in the recycling of electrical equipment.

For coordinators teachers:

 Training for the teachers in order to get familiar with the materials supplied and with the projects scheduale. Organizers visits during the activities that will be developed.

 Each coordinator teacher that was enrolled in the program and provided evidence for the activities described in Regulation of the ECO Education program, will receive a tablet.
